Building futures for our children…“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from” -Proverbs 22:6 (NIV)
The Afterschool Academics Program at New Prospect was born out of a growing need to provide tutorial services for the children of NPBC, the Roselawn Community and as many communities in the Greater Cincinnati area as possible. A few committed and talented members of New Prospect coupled with the generosity of the church, joined forces with neighboring schools and the Inner City Development Corporation to secure the resources necessary to provide a top notch after school academic program. This program is designed to further enhance the academic skills of inner city African American students and promote good study skills as well.
New Prospect’s After School Academics Program offers homework help and reading and math tutoring for students in grades K-12. Snacks, free play or hoop time are also provided after the academics are covered. Our services are provided Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:30-6:30 p.m. We utilize a suite of classrooms housed on the Summit Center (rooms 214, 216 and 218) as well as the gym and the church’s Fellowship Hall.
To participate, obtain a registration form at New Prospect. Registration forms may be obtained at New Prospect, Roselawn Condon School, or Woodward High School. These forms must be completed before a child can participate in the program.
