We are focused on serving the community by preparing them for college and their careers. We will do this by hosting college tours, providing tutoring for college entrance exam, helping students apply for scholarships and financial aid, and assisting with career explorations.
Building futures for our children…“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from”
-Proverbs 22:6 (NIV)
The Afterschool Academics Program at New Prospect was born out of a growing need to provide tutorial services for the children of NPBC, the Roselawn Community and as many communities in the Greater Cincinnati area as possible. A few committed and talented members of New Prospect coupled with the generosity of the church, joined forces with neighboring schools and the Inner City Development Corporation to secure the resources necessary to provide a top notch after school academic program. This program is designed to further enhance the academic skills of inner city African American students and promote good study skills as well.
New Prospect’s Afterschool Academics Program offers homework help and reading and math tutoring for students in grades K-12. Snacks, free play or hoop time are also provided after the academics are covered. Our services are provided Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:30-6:30 p.m. We utilize a suite of classrooms housed on the second floor of the church (rooms 214, 216 and 218) as well as the gym and the church’s Fellowship Hall.
How to participate. Registration forms may be obtained at New Prospect Baptist Church, Roselawn Condon School, or Woodward High School. These forms must be completed before a child can participate in the program.
